In our computer age, the importance of our hands and wrists to our wellbeing and ability to do what we want to do is increasingly important, as is the wear and tear they experience. Repetitive movement of any body part can create imbalances which cause pain. Typing and texting is definitely repetitive movement! And it is not just typing and texting. We use our fingers and hands and wrists to do so many things–basic things which we probably take for granted–until moving them causes us discomfort or pain. Some basic stretches can help a lot. Your hands are always with you which makes them easy to work on. The next time you are just sitting in a meeting or waiting for an appointment, take a moment to stretch your wrist and hands and fingers by pressing them back the opposite way that they usually curve and hold it for 30 seconds to a minute, trying to increasingly get more length. Feel better? If not, you may need more detailed help.
The creation of this website is an ongoing journey. Soon there will be more information available here about hand and wrist health. Until then, the Save Your Hands and Wrists Kit described in our store will give you a great education and be your best tool.
